The Cottages
The Cottages is a grade two listed building that we have converted into two sperate two bedroom flats. The project involved takeing them back to brick and installing a new ridge beam, to match the pitch of the neighbouring property. New floors, insulation and services have all been installed and the entire property has been repointed with traditional lime mortar.

The gable end was parially removed to replace the underlying wooden lintle. The gable was subsequently rebuilt with a greater pitch and a higher ridgebeam to match the neighbouring roof.

The new 1-tonne ridgebeam was installed via a telehandeler, to give sutable strength to the roof structure and alter the pitch.

An external staircase was constructed to create a seperate entrance between the upper and lower flat, converting the property into two seperate dwellings

The 45 degree pitch of the roof has created a huge airy space within the upper flat. As per the heritage conditions the original cruck trusses have been kept in place and restored.
